NATCHITOCHES - The NSU Theatre will sponsor its annual New York trip Nov. 19-24. During the trip, participants will be able to see some of the most popular Broadway shows and see the sights of New York City, according to Dr. Jack Wann, coordinator of theatre and artistic director at Northwestern State University.
The cost for the trip is approximately $900 which includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, baggage handling and tips, tickets to five shows and transportation to and from the airport. Each individual is responsible for additional transportation, personal purchases and food which includes Thanksgiving dinner. Accommodations will be at either the Howard Johnson Plaza or The Milford.
Participation is open to Northwestern students or any area resident with an interest in theatre. A non-refundable deposit of $200 is due by Friday, Sept. 15 to assure a spot.
According to Wann, the tentative lineup of shows will include Tony-award winners "Contact" and "Copenhagen," "Seussical," which is expected to be a big hit, Pulitzer Prize winner "Jitney" and "Forbidden Broadway."
