NATCHITOCHES - A paper by Walter Creighton, Margaret Kilcoyne and Jennifer Videtto of Northwestern State University has been accepted for presentation at the Academic Business World International Conference later this month in Nashville, Tenn. The paper will also be published in the refereed journal associated with the conference.
Creighton is a professor of computer information systems. Kilcoyne is director of business programs and an associatte professor. Videtto is director of Institutional Research.
The paper, “Grade Point Averages for College of Business Courses Offered Online Versus Face to Face,” compared grade point averages for 13 courses offered both online and face-to-face covering a period of four semesters in 2006 and 2007. No significant difference was found in the two groups as a whole. There were significant differences found in several individual courses, especially financial accounting and managerial accounting.
