NATCHITOCHES- Northwestern State University and the City of Natchitoches will prominently featured on Monday's edition of "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

Natchitoches resident Peggy Plunkett will be one of the featured guests on the show.
The Nov. 4 broadcast will feature segments of Oprah Winfrey's surprise visit to Natchitoches on Oct. 18. Winfrey arrived in Natchitoches to pay a surprise visit to Plunkett, who was an audience member in one of Winfrey's previous shows. During that show, Plunkett told Winfrey, "Everyone in Natchitoches loves you."

Winfrey decided to make an unannounced visit to Natchitoches to determine if Plunkett was telling the truth. During her whirlwind trip, Winfrey visited several shops and restaurants indowntown Natchitoches, visited the Northwestern President's Home and led the NSU Homecoming Parade.

Approximately 20 Natchitoches residents attend the taping of the show earlier this week, including Mayor Wayne McCullen and Northwestern State University President Dr. Randall J. Webb.

The show is expected to air Monday, Nov. 4. Show dates could vary In north and central Louisiana, "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is broadcast on KALB-TV in Alexandria weekdays at 3:30 p.m. and KSLA-TV in Shreveport weekdays at 4 p.m..
