NATCHITOCHES - If a picture is worth a thousand words, Alan Pasch wants to make sure the students of Northwestern State University never run out of things to say about the 2000-2001 student yearbook. Pasch, a 23-year-old fine arts major from Opelousas, was selected as editor of The Potpourri by the Student Media Board recently.
In addition to Pasch, the Student Media Board selected Josh Beavers as editor of the Current Sauce student newspaper and Raymond Williams of Gonzales as manager of the student radio station, KNWD-FM.
Pasch said, overall, he wants the 2000-2001 yearbook to be more aesthetically pleasing.
"I want to add more photographs and perhaps artwork," he said, adding that the stories in the yearbook will be thorough but short.
Pasch has served as layout editor for The Potpourri and has worked as a disc jockey for KNWD since 1998. He is also a member of the NSU Student Art Society.
He prides himself on having "self-discipline and dedication," characteristics he believes will help him be an effective editor.
Pasch has been involved with the rowing team at NSU since August 1996,
serving as team captain each year, president of the team for two years and
currently serving as assistant coach.
