NATCHITOCHES -The Northwestern State University College
of Education and the Louisiana Department of Education Region
VI Education Service Center will co-host a free PRAXIS examination
workshop on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 9 a.m.-noon. The workshop will
be held in the Teacher Education Center on NSU's Natchitoches
campus. The workshop will focus on the Pre-Professional Skills
Test (PPST) and the Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT)
exam. Instructors will present test-taking strategies as well
as a content area review to assist current and prospective teachers
who are preparing to take the PRAXIS test.
NSU faculty members Dr. Marty Rhymes, Connie Melder, and Dee Dee
Perot will conduct review sessions during the workshop. George
Rhymes, teacher certification counselor for Region VI, will be
present to answer questions concerning Praxis requirements and
other certification issues.
