NATCHITOCHES - The Northwestern State University Small Business Development Center along with the Northwest Louisiana Government Procurement Center will sponsor a fee seminar "Selling to the Government" Tuesday, Nov. 13. The seminar will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. in Room 107 of Russell Hall, Room 107 on Northwestern State's Natchitoches campus.
This seminar is designed to assist local businesses in expanding their business base to include government markets. Topics will include: market research, how to find bid leads, current procurement practices of federal and state agencies, vendor registrations, socio-economic programs and more.
The Northwest Louisiana Government Procurement Center is an economic development affiliate of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and the Defense Logistics Department of the U.S. Department of Defense. Their primary mission is to increase the number of government contract dollars awarded in Northwest Louisiana, thereby creating new jobs and retaining existing jobs. In 2000, their clients reported $53 million in federal, state and local contract awards.
