NATCHITOCHES - A team from Northwestern State University was among the top finishers at a regional computer programming competition held this past weekend.

The two person team, Jed Racine of Montgomery and Jason Delaune of Winnfield, placed fourth out of approximately 60 competitors. Racine and Delaune took part in a contest sponsored by the Association of Information Technology Professionals in Lawton, Okla.

The students were given a problem and had two and a half hours to develop a solution using Visual-BASIC language which they had learned in computer information systems classes at Northwestern.

Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems Bill Barnett sponsored the team and is adviser for NSU's Association of Information Technology Professionals chapter.
