NATCHITOCHES -An open forum will be held with four finalists for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Northwestern State University beginning Monday, Oct. 31, according to Bill Brent, director of the Mrs. H.D. Dear Sr. and Alice Estelle Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts and chair of the Search Committee.

The forums are open to the public and will be held in the President's Room of the Friedman Student Union The schedule for the forums is:

Dr. Peter Fos, dean of the College of Health, University of Southern Mississippi, Monday, Oct. 31, 2 p.m.;

Dr. Linda Rae Markert, dean of the School of Education, SUNY @ Oswego; Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2 p.m.

Dr. M.L. Mitchell, faculty member, Medaille College, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 1:30 p.m.;

Dr. Thomas Hanson, acting provost and vice president for academic affairs, Northwestern State University, Thursday, Nov. 3, 2 p.m.

Prior to becoming dean at USM, Fos served as chief science officer of the Mississippi State Department of Health and has held faculty and administrative positions at Tulane University and The University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Markert also served in teaching and administrative positions in the Department of Technology at SUNY @ Oswego in Oswego, N.Y. and at San Jose State University.

Mitchell has served in various administrative positions at Bethany College in Kansas and Medaille College in Buffalo, N.Y., including dean, vice president for academic affairs, provost and interim president and his doctorate is in chemistry.

Hanson has held the positions of dean of the Graduate School, director of Information Systems and professor of mathematics at NSU.
