NATCHITOCHES- Thirty-two Louisiana high schools will compete in the 13th Annual High School Quiz Bowl State Championship Saturday, March 13 at Northwestern State University. The event is sponsored by the Louisiana Association for Academic Competition.

Schools will compete in four divisions based on size. The division champions will compete in the semifinals at 1 p.m. The winners advance to the championship at 3:30 p.m. The semifinals and finals will be held in the Ora G. Williams Studio (Room 142) of Kyser Hall.

The overall champion will compete in the Panasonic Academic Challenge in Orlando, Fla. In June.

Participating schools include: Caddo Magnet, Byrd and Evangel Christian of Shreveport, Baton Rouge Magnet, Barbe and St. Louis Catholic of Lake Charles, Destrehan, Hahnville, Leesville and DeRidder.

Also qualifying for the State Quiz Bowl were Jesuit and Isidore Newman of New Orleans, Archbishop Rummel, St. Martin's and Lutheran of Metairie, Bolton and Holy Savior Menard of Alexandria, Bishop Sullivan and University Lab of Baton Rouge, Vandebilt Catholic of Houma and E.D. White of Thibodaux.

Other qualifiers include St. Frederick and River Oaks of Monroe, Anacoco, Catholic High of New Iberia, St. Mary's of Natchitoches, Hornbeck, Evans, Episcopal School of Acadiana, Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau and Boothville-Venice.
