NATCHITOCHES -The Louisiana Association for Academic Competition will sponsor the 15th Annual State Quiz Bowl Tournament at Northwestern State University Saturday, March 25 in Kyser Hall on NSU's Natchitoches campus.

Twenty-four teams from around Louisiana will compete. This year's field of participants was reduced from 32 teams due to disruptions caused by Hurricane's Katrina and Rita.

Participants include Bolton and Menard of Alexandria, Anacoco, Beau Chene of Arnaudville, McKinley, University Lab and The Dunham School of Baton Rouge, Evans, Florien, Academy of the Sacred Heart of Grand Coteau and Vandebilt Catholic of Houma.

Also taking part in the competition are Lacassine, St. Louis Catholic of Lake Charles, Minden, St. Frederick of Monroe, Monterey, the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts, St. Mary's of Natchitoches, Jesuit of New Orleans, Caddo Magnet of Shreveport, Sulphur and Zachary.

The overall champion will compete in the Panasonic Academic Challenge in Orlando, Fla. in June.
