NATCHITOCHES-The Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Society will hold a wine and cheese reception Tuesday, Sept. 9 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Northwestern State University President's Home. The reception is open to members of the community interested in the Symphony Society.

Charles Demuynck, conductor of the Natchitoches ­ Northwestern Symphony Orchestra, will present an overview of the 2003-2004 season. The season opens Thursday, Oct. 2 with a Pops Concert and includes six performances.

The Symphony Society is active raising funds to provide scholarships for music students at NSU and to support the arts in the Natchitoches area. Last year, the Symphony Society provided $22,325 in scholarships for Northwestern music students.
