FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES - Students at Northwestern State University will find it easier to receive refund checks this fall.
NSU students will have three options for receiving student
refund balances, according to Director of Auxiliary Services Jennifer
A. Kelly. Students can receive direct deposit into a bank account
associated with the University's debit card provider; receive
direct deposit into the bank of their choice or receive a paper
check by mail.
Direct deposit, also known as an electronic funds transfer, is
not required, but has advantages.
"Students who sign up for electronic funds transfer will get their refund quicker than they would have by mail," said Kelly. "The transfer provides increased security and greater convenience for students and can be made to any bank the student chooses. Each semester, some students do not receive refund checks because they have forgotten to process a change of address, but as long as their bank records are up to date, the transfer will be made."
Over the next several weeks, Northwestern students will receive a letter explaining the new refund system. The letter will include an "Authorization for Northwestern Electronic Disbursements of Funds." The authorization form is also available online at www.nsula.edu/onecard, or can be filled out at fall fee payment.
