NATCHITOCHES - A non-credit class, "Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement" will be offered in Alexandria by Northwestern State University's Office of Electronic and Continuing Education.

The class will begin Oct. 12 and will be held on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. through Nov. 2 at the Rapides Parish Learning Center at England Airpark. Robert L. Harger, Jr. is the instructor. The fee for the class is $55.

Each session will include important money management concepts in practical, easy to understand language. Topics include investment basics and types of products that are suitable for retirement planning. The class will also have information on retirement lifestyle issues, lowering income taxes, risk management, proper estate planning methods and developing a personal financial plan.
