NATCHITOCHES - The 23rd annual Chris Roper Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, April 30 at Northwestern State University's Robert W. Wilson Recreation Complex in Natchitoches.
The four-man scramble will tee off at 1 p.m., following a noon luncheon. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place teams. Other events will include the closest-to-the-hole contest with two prizes and the long drive with one prize.
Entry fee is $45 per player and includes lunch. Cart rental is $7.50.
The tournament is held in memory of Chris Roper, a former student from Camden, Ark., who was killed in a traffic accident in 1982. Roper was a senior and a top golfer on the Demon squad. He was a member of the Trans-American All-Conference team, placing ninth in the League Tournament.
