NATCHITOCHES-The NSU Foundation recently held its annual
Scholarship Banquet recognizing more than 150 scholarship recipeints
along with those who made gifts to benefit Northwestern State
University students.
NSU President Dr. Randall J. Webb commended the scholarship students
for their academic achievement and thanked the donors.
"Our students have achieved a level of distinction academically,"
said Webb.
"I am sincerely grateful to the donors who are willing to
assist our students as they work toward gaining an education.
Northwestern is a better place because of their generosity."
Junior journalism major Danielle Mitchell of Baton Rouge,
spoke on behalf of all the scholarship winners.
"We would like to say thanks to the donors because we may
not have been able to accomplish all of the things we have without
our scholarships," said Mitchell.
The NSU Foundation is a non-profit organization that invests
and manages private assets that have been donated to the University.
The NSU Foundation is responsible for coordinating all fund raising
to benefit the University. Its purpose is to
identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts. Donors can make gifts
to the University through the Foundation in a number of ways including
joining the NSU President's Council, planned giving or establishing
endowed scholarships, professorships and chairs.
