FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES The Louisiana Scholars' College will
hold its Spring Scholars' Day Saturday, Feb. 26. This open house
for the state's designated honor college for the liberal arts
and sciences is designed to allow high school honor students a
chance to explore the many opportunities at the Scholars' College.
The Scholars' College is the highly selective honors
college located on the campus of Northwestern State University.
It combines academic success and an honors college curriculum
in an effort to maximize learning experiences.
"This concept combines the best of both worlds. A small liberal arts college with small classes, close faculty-student interaction, and an individualized curriculum is couched within a large university campus," said Dr. Greg Granger, acting director of the Scholars' College. "This truly unique college environment allows the students to choose for themselves the degree to which they specialize in honors activities only or to branch out into the wider realm of university life."
While at Scholars' Day students can participate in a sample Scholars' Class, ask questions during a student panel, and tour the honors residence hall, Boozman Hall. Simultaneously, parents can gather more information at the parent panel session and enjoy a scenic tour of historic Natchitoches.
Also as part of Spring Scholars' Day, students and
parents dine with the faculty and students and staff from Scholars'
College and attend a scholarship session.
Scholars' Day is hosted by NSU's Office of University
Recruiting and the faculty of Scholars' College. For information
