FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES The screenwriters for the recent top grossing film Boogeyman, Juliet Snowden and Stiles White, will present a workshop at the Louisiana Scholars' College at Northwestern State University Tuesday, March 15.
The workshop will be at 7 p.m. in Room 227 of Morrison Hall. There is no fee to attend, and the workshop is open to anyone with an interest in screenwriting and film production.
Boogeyman was the top grossing film in the country on Super Bowl weekend. In the film, a man traumatized by the memories of terrible events he experienced in his childhood bedroom is forced to return home several years later to face his fears.
Snowden and White, who live in Los Angeles, will discuss the process of screenwriting and how to break into the movie industry.
The writing team sold their first original screenplay, entitled The Waiting, to Wes Craven. Their next film will be entitled Knowing, a supernatural thriller about a time capsule that predicts dire happenings in the future. Knowing will be directed by Alex Proyas, who also directed I, Robot, The Crow, and Dark City. Snowden and White are currently writing the screenplay for the American version of the Korean horror thriller Phone.
