NATCHITOCHES- The Office of Continuing Education at Northwestern State University will offer classes on basic skin and scuba diving and bonsai, the art of designing trees in miniature form, in April.
The basic skin and scuba diving course will give students an understanding of safe skin and scuba diving as well as proper use of equipment. Registration will be on Wednesday April 3. Classes will be on Wednesday through May 15.
Open water experience is optional for completion of the course but is required for scuba diver certification. Information about open water experience available to students will be provided at the appropriate time.
The introduction to bonsai is a hands on course for those with little or no experience in working with plants. Each student will receive a plant along with instructions for designing their own bonsai.
Bill R. Chander Jr. is the instructor. The class will be held in Room 109 of the A.A. Fredericks Center for Creative and Performing Arts on Thursday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. starting April 4 and concluding April 25. There is a $35 fee for the class plus a $35 material fee.
