FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES-Winnfield artist and teacher, Gail H. Shelton, will present an unique exhibit, "Riddle Pics," at Northwestern State University Jan. 12 through Feb. 6 in Gallery 2 located adjacent to the Orville J. Hanchey upstairs gallery.
The colored pencil drawings in the exhibit contain a rendering of an animal and an object that combine to form a riddle or word pun, according to Dr. Roberta Walters, coordinator of the Gallery. For example, Walters said, a duck and a roll of scotch tape combine to make "Duck Tape." There are 25 such riddles in the show for viewers to decipher.
Shelton is a magna cum laude graduate of Northwestern in art education. She taught gifted and talented art in Winn Parish for 20 years. She recently retired and operates the Pea Patch Gallery, a gallery, antique mall and cafe in downtown Winnfield. Shelton continues to teach workshops in colored pencil and watercolor. Her works have been shown in the region as well as in New York and California.
"Riddle Pics" may be seen weekdays from 8:30 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m.
