FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES - High school seniors and their parents can get a look at what Northwestern State University has to offer during NSU's annual Senior Day Saturday, Nov. 14.

The event is sponsored by the Office of Admissions and Recruiting and is open to any high school senior and their parents or guardians.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the auditorium of the A.A. Fredericks Center for Creative and Performing Arts. The program starts at 9 a.m.

A parents' orientation session will begin at 10:30 a.m. while the students participate in a "straight talk" panel. Participants will then break into three groups where a variety of events are scheduled including bus tours, lunch and a chance to meet with representatives of academic departments and student organizations to discuss academic programs, financial aid and student life.

"Senior Day is one of the very best opportunities for students to get an extended look at NSU and what we have to offer," said Jana Lucky, director of Admissions and Recruiting. "This is a comprehensive event that brings together representatives from academics, financial aid and student life in one place. In one day, you can have all your questions answered and meet the people who are here to help students succeed."

Participants will also get an opportunity to view dorms, shop at the NSU Bookstore and see the sights around historic Natchitoches. At 2 p.m., participants are invited to watch the nationally-ranked NSU Demons take on Sam Houston in Turpin Stadium.

For more information on Senior Day, call (318) 357-4503, (800) 426-3754 (in Louisiana) or (800) 327-1903 (out of state).
