FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES -Northwestern State University student D'nea Tyler will unveil a tasty new exhibit Monday, Nov. 27 in Gallery 2 of the Orville Hanchey Art Gallery.
Tyler's senior exhibit, "Sweet Seasons" will include designs for her new self-published cookbook and samples of her desserts. The cookbook also called "Sweet Seasons" has concoctions ranging from cinnamon roll ice cream to coconut scones. Tyler, who is from Natchitoches, developed most of the recipes in the book and did the design, layout and photography.
At her exhibit opening on Nov. 27 at 6 p.m., Tyler will hold a cooking demonstration and have samples of her recipes on hand. Copies of her cookbook will also be available. The exhibit will run until Dec. 1,
"I love to bake and cook and this was a way to combine something I love with my senior exhibit," said Tyler, a graphic communications major. "There are 20 recipes in the book and all but two are original. The other two came from my grandmothers, which gives the book sentimental value."
Tyler hopes to attend culinary school after graduating and eventually own a bakery or pastry shop.
Admission to the exhibit is free and open to the public. The Gallery is open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
