FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE


NATCHITOCHES ­Computer information systems students from Northwestern State University finished first in four of eight categories at the annual Glenda Anderson Programming Contest at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.

Overall, NSU students placed in seven of eight categories they entered.

The team of Yang Liu of Natchitoches and James Marsh of Leesville placed first in database design, network design and Web design. They also placed second in system analysis and design. The team of Chad Vicknair of Montz and Jeremy Wilmot of Zwolle finished first in COBOL and third in systems design and analysis.

Erin Ponville of Franklin finished second in both COBOL and VB Programming. Janice Austin of Winnfield finished third in database design.

Coordinator of Computer Information Systems Dr. Jack Russell accompanied the students.

NSU will compete in the Association of Information Technology Professionals National Collegiate Conference April 7-9 in Atlanta.
