NATCHITOCHES- Fifteen Northwestern State University faculty members have received tenure and 12 faculty have earned a promotion in rank, according to Acting Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anthony Scheffler.
Those receiving tenure were Dr. Ahmad Darvish and Dr. Michael Land of the Department of Biological Sciences, Dr. Julie McDonald of the College of Business and Dr. Frances Pearson and Dr. Frank Fuller of the College of Education.
Also receiving tenure were Dr. J. Mark Thompson of the Mrs. H.D. Dear Sr. and Alice E. Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts, Dr. Lynn Woods of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Dr. Lisa Abney and Dr. Suzanne Green of the Department of Language and Communications, Debra Clark of the College of Nursing, Joe Morris of the Department of Social Sciences, Dr. Wade Tyler of the Department of Social Work and Gail Kwak of Watson Library.
Tenure was also granted to Dr. Patrice Moulton and Dr. Danny Seymour of the Department of Psychology, Seymour was also promoted to associate professor.
Six faculty were promoted to full professor. Those promoted were: Dr. Thomas Hanson of the Department of Mathematics, Dr. Lissa Pollacia of the College of Business, Dr. Helaine Razovsky of the Department of Language and Communication, Scheffler, Dr. John Tollett and Dr. Sue Weaver of the College of Education.
Also receiving promotion to associate professor were Scott Burrell of the Mrs. H.D. Dear Sr. and Alice E. Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts, Dr. Patricia Pierson of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Dr. Mark Schaub of the College of Business and Tyler.
Dr. John Foster of the Department of Language and Communication was promoted to assistant professor.
