FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES-The NSU Theatre will hold its annual orientation night Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. on the main stage of the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. The event is open to the public.

Orientation night gives NSU theatre students, faculty, staff and members of the community the chance to meet, mingle and learn about the upcoming theatre season.

The guest for this year's program is actor Patrick Tovatt, who is perhaps best known for portraying Cal Stricklyn on the daytime drama "As the World Turns."

Tovatt recently finished a two-year run on Broadway as the father of Mary Louise Parker, and later Jennifer Jason Leigh in the award-winning "Proof." Prior to that he was in "Copenhagen" another prizewinner on Broadway.

In addition, Tovatt has worked all over the United States on tour and had his own play "Husbandry" produced at the Manhattan Theatre Club.

NSU Coordinator of Theatre Dr. Jack Wann has known Tovatt for years and describes him as "one of the brightest, most gifted, and amiable" people on the Broadway scene today.
