NATCHITOCHES-Students at Northwestern State University can participate in a variety of fun activities during Welcome Week 2003 Aug. 25-Sept. 4.

On Monday, Aug. 25, a welcome supper will be held at the BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry) Center on College Avenue at 5:30 p.m. A cookout will be held at The Foundation on College Ave. at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are required for The Foundation cookout.

A scavenger hunt will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 2:30 p.m. at The Foundation followed by a cookout at The Foundation at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are required for The Foundation cookout.

Classes begin on Wednesday, Aug. 27. That evening, The Foundation and the CSO (Catholic Student Organization) will each have worship services at 6:30 p.m. The CSO is located on Second Street. From 8 p.m. until 11 p.m., a new student social will be held in the Friedman Student Union. The BCM will have a worship service at 8:31 p.m.

Thursday activities include mud volleyball sponsored by Intramural Sports at 3 p.m. and the NPHC block party in front of the Student Union.

On the eve of the Demon football season opener, BCM Friday Night Activities begin at 7 p.m. At 10 p.m., the Demons Come Out at Night Pep Rally starts at Turpin Stadium.

The Demons take on Jackson State on Saturday, Aug. 30 in Turpin Stadium at 6 p.m. A BCM aftergame party will held.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, The Foundation will serve lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Student Activities Board Coffeehouse will be in the Alley at 7 p.m. An all campus worship service will be held at a time to be announced.

The 40 Days of Purpose Kickoff will start on Sept. 3 and last through Oct. 15. The Foundation and CSO have services at 6:30 p.m. Services at the BCM begin at 8:31 p.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 4, the BCM will serve lunch from 11:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be held at the BCM each Thursday until Nov. 20.
