NATCHITOCHES- Forty-three Northwestern State University students have been named to the 2002 edition of Who's Who Among American Universities and Colleges.

The students were chosen by campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

Selected to Who's Who: were Michael Addison and Desmona Hunter of Alexandria, Marina Barakova, Melissa Jennings, Lori-Ann Maria Miller, Shondale Smith and Laura Ann Wimberly of Natchitoches, Jamie Brace, Neely Johnson and Catherine Offutt of Bossier City, Lawrence Callac of Slidell, Tracey Camburn of Belle Chasse, Ashley Carline of Port Allen, Bret Chiquet of Winnfield and Stephanie Davies of Winnfield.

Also named was Jamilah Davis of Baton Rouge, Patricia Dickerson of Stonewall, Jessica Gilmore of Ruston, Jonathan Grant of Benton, Lakesha Harris of Grand Prairie, Texas, Alisha Hays of Plain Dealing, Kristen Holley of Waskom, Texas, Mary Howe of Gloster, Nancy James of New Llano, Rachel Kimball of Gonzales, Joshuah Laird of Oakdale, Dana LeBlanc of Marrero, Andrea Locke of Westlake and Rebecca Mayfield of Ferriday.

Others selected were: Lea McFarlin of Hurst, Texas, Karen Lynne Burleson Navarro and Jennifer Shatzkin of Leesville, Jennifer Pellegrin of Thibodaux, Brennan Pralle of Fort Polk, Stephen Prudhomme and Jason White of Shreveport, Robin Samson of Covington, Gaynelle Stewart of New Orleans, Meredith Tohlen of Keller, Texas, Yashica Thomas Turner of Coushatta, Paemela Vailes of Boyce, Tan Vo of Harvey and Zendra White of Abbeville.

The NSU students were among an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign countries.
