NATCHITOCHES-Registration for the popular wine appreciation class at Northwestern State University will open on the first day of the spring semester, January 10, 2005. The class will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 at the NSU Recreation Complex and continue for six consecutive Thursdays.

Participants must be at least 21 years of age. Cost is $80, which includes all six classes with five wines per class.

"The focus of the class is tom compare the great wines of Europe against our U.S. wines and this year, in addition to French and American wines, we will also be featuring Australian wines," said Dr. Lynn Woods, class instructor. "The class is great fun and very relaxed."

Because the class fills up quickly, Woods urged anyone interested to register early.
