NATCHITOCHES - Northwestern State University's Department of Language and Communication, the NSU Writing Project, and the Natchitoches Public Library will co-sponsor the 2nd Annual Writing Marathon Saturday, April 1. During the Writing Marathon, groups of students will explore downtown Natchitoches and use the surroundings as inspiration for their writing.
Registration will begin at the Library at 8:30 a.m. Students will then explore downtown Natchitoches and begin writing. At 12:30 p.m., students will meet at the Library to have lunch, and then share their writing with other participants. There is no charge to take part in the Writing Marathon, but there is a charge for lunch, which will be delivered to the Library.
All students wishing to participate must have a teacher nomination and be accompanied by an adult-either a teacher or parent. Nominations can be faxed to Ada Hippler at (318) 357-5942. For more information, please call the NSU Writing Project at (318) 357-5339.
The NSU Writing Project is affiliated with the National Writing
Project and is a teacher-centered initiative to improve writing
instruction for teachers of all grade levels.
