![]() The Health Careers Foundations awards scholarships and low-interest loans to nursing and allied health students for educational expenses with emphasis on nontraditional students. Website: Http://www.hcinfo.org HRSA’s Nursing Education Loan Repayment program (NELRP): NELRP is managed by the BHPr. Division of Nursing and is designated to assist with the recruitment and retention of registered nurses by assisting to repay their education loans in exchange for service to the underserved in eligible health facilities. Information about NELRP can be accessed by phone at 877-464-4772, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Eastern Time or by visiting the program website at: http://bhpr.hrsa.gov/nursing/loanrepay.htm. The Jeanette Rankin Foundation: This foundation is a non-profit organization that awards grants annually to low-income women 35 years of age and older who are in an undergraduate or vocational training program and have a vision of how their education will benefit themselves, their families and their communities. Raise The Nation: This organization is dedicated to celebrating independence through education by awarding grants and scholarships to single parent women and their children. The primary mission is to provide economic support to single parent women who want to continue with their education or repay student loans. The organization provides money directly to the colleges, universities and student loan providers for the purpose of helping women complete and pay for their education, including assistance for childcare, books and other basic needs. The Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students: Program provides scholarships to full-time, financially needy students from disadvantaged backgrounds, enrolled in health professions and nursing programs. Participating schools are responsible for selecting scholarship recipients, making reasonable determinations of need, and providing scholarships that do not exceed the cost of attendance (tuition, reasonable educational expenses and reasonable living expenses).
