Student Services
The Student Services Office provides a student- centered environment equipped to meet the needs of both pre-clinical and clinical nursing students. Debbie Moore, Director of Student Services, is the liaison to the registrar of Northwestern State University. Responsibilities of this office include:

The Office of Student Services (LB102) is located off the atrium, to the right of the front entrance of the Nursing Education Center and is open Monday through Friday, except University Holidays, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Student Organizations

Shreveport Student Government Organization:

The Shreveport Student Government Association (SSGA) is the representative and governing body of the students. The organization is directly responsible for bringing the interest and concerns of the students to the attention of the administration. Student Government Association members work closely with academics, campus regulations and other aspects of university life. The Student Government Association allocates fees to various student services and provides services and programs for the University community. Fees are included as a part of the student activity fee for all students who are registered for 6 or more hours.

The SSGA is located in the Faculty Tower Building, LC 125, (318) 677-3043.


Student Nurses’ Association:
The Student Nurses’ Association (SNA), a pre-professional organization, is designed to promote the nursing profession and form a common bond among its members. The Shreveport SNA is one of the largest and most active student nurse organizations in the United States. All students who are registered in the pre-nursing or nursing major are invited to join.

The SNA office is located in the Faculty Tower Building, LC 103, (318) 677-3044.


Association of Radiologic Sciences Students (ARSS):
The purpose of ARTS is to encourage early involvement in professional organizations, promote a professional attitude within the clinical setting and to facilitate effective communication between administration, faculty and other student organizations on campus. The organization also serves to orient, introduce and promote Radiologic Sciences, as well as, professional aspects of the major and career.


Baptist Student Union:
The Baptist Student Union (BSU) serves as a link between Northwestern State University and local Baptist churches. Weekly meetings and luncheons are held.


Shreveport-Bossier Campus Ministry:
The Shreveport-Bossier Campus Ministry is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian Ministry serving the college campuses in the Shreveport/Bossier area.
