NSU ID Includes Debit Card Function

The NSU ID Card known as the Speed Demon Card features an additional function as a debit card.  NSU has contracted with Peoples State Bank to provide this service. 

Students who elect to activate the free full-service Purple Power Checking Account with Peoples State Bank will have the option to have any financial aid or refund checks direct deposited to the ID card.   These funds can be used at any off-campus location that accepts debit cards.  All transactions require a pin number.

Peoples State Bank will have representatives on campus for each Freshmen Connection including the Shreveport and Leesville dates to service incoming freshmen.  The returning students will have the same opportunity to sign-up during fee payment week and other designated times.

The Speed Demon Card continues to serve students as the official NSU ID card, provides access to residence halls, serves as the meal plan card for Aramark, can be used in vending machines, laundry facilities, and provides access to student activities and other events.
