One of our main purposes in our chapter is our Making Music Possible. MMP is a project that helps promote music throughout the community and in schools. Previous projects have been to give a designated amount of money to a band program to purchase new instruments, and giving supplies to less fortunate music programs. We do several fundraisers throughout the year to help raise funds for our projects including face painting and bake sales. Our project for the 2008 year will be a Children's Music Carnival for community children to attend to learn about music. The carnival will be held in April exact dates TBA, in the CAPA building. We will have about 12 stations where students can play games and participate in activities that promote music learning. Some of these stations include recorder playing, musical chairs, instrument toss, coloring station, rhythm games, and opera mask making. The students will earn tickets based on the activities completed and used them for prizes throughout the day.
