Abstract
The major conceptual changes that have recently
revolutionized the genre of biography heralded a renaissance,
increasing both the quantity and the quality of biographies. The
climate which fostered this revolution arose from the intellectual
unrest of the sixties. Feminist theory in particular contributed much
to the genre by questioning the dogmas of traditional biography. The
most significant question posed was, of course, why traditional
biography consistently ignored women as subjects. My short biography of
Dr. Eleanor Worsley experiments with some newly developed techniques. I
approach her life from two angles in hopes that they will round out
each other's shortcomings to create a full-bodied portrait.
