Abstract
This work is a study of some of the most
common poisons involved in poisoning
deaths by accident, suicide or homicide. Contained in this work is a
short story,
"Poisonous Deception," illustrating the effects of the twenty most
common poisons.
Along with this story is provided a list of these poisons and a brief
background on each,
describing where they come from and for what they are used. Also
included are diagrams
of the structure of each poison, descriptions of the biochemical and
physiological
responses of the human body to the substances, and the fatal dosages.
