Abstract
Blackjack is a
popular table game in American casinos. Many individuals have
attempted to develop a strategy for Blackjack; however most strategies
developed are not
justified by mathematics. This project sought to use the concept of
game theory to
examine the probability of a winning hand in several simplifications to
Blackjack: the
casino's two-card hand is 17 or greater, there are three cards in play,
or three players in
play. After examining these simplifications, one can conclude that many
beliefs
Blackjack players have are misconceptions.
