Almost all of our students are awarded some type of scholarship:

• The Louisiana Scholars' College Scholarship is a prestigious 4-year award of $1,500 per semester reserved for students in the College.  Requirements include full admission to the College and an ACT of 28 or greater or SAT of 1240 or greater.
• Valedictorian and Salutatorian scholarships are available for students certified by their high schools as #1 or #2 in their graduating class at the time of application.
• Out-of-state fee waivers are available for non-Louisiana residents who meet the LSC admission requirements.
• National Merit Scholarship Finalists who designate NSU as their institution of choice qualify for an additional scholarship.
• Louisiana residents may apply any Tuition Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) scholarship to their expenses at the Scholars' College.
• Students admitted to LSC are considered for all academic scholarships offered by Northwestern State University.
• Applicants may also audition for performance scholarships for outstanding musicians, artists, and actors; try out for awards for cheerleaders, dance line, and pom pons; or apply for ROTC scholarships.
• All students are encouraged to complete and submit the FAFSA and the NSU financial aid data form to determine if they qualify for grants or other financial aid through NSU. (The FAFSA is required to qualify for TOPS.)
  

Scholarships are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.  Priority is given to students who meet Northwestern's December 1 scholarship deadline.  Secondary deadlines for Scholars' College students are January 15 and March 1.
