International Study opportunities:
Scholars' College students can participate in a number of international study programs:
- ISEP (International Student Exchange Program) is the best! Go almost anywhere in the world for the same price as an education at Northwestern. (Although you must pay for your own plane fare, you can even apply your scholarships to your other ISEP expenses.) NSU is the only school in the state of Louisiana that offers ISEP. This year we have students going to school in Finland, Germany and France. The program coordinator is Dr. Steve Horton.
- Students can also participate in NSU Abroad, a program in which NSU faculty teach NSU courses in another country. Recent offerings have included theater in London and art in Ireland. LSC offered a course set in Moscow last year and two trips this summer: one to Rome, and one to Paris. Start saving your pennies. For more details about the last Rome trip, contact Dr. Richard Jensen.
- We recently joined MICEFA and CODOFIL, two additional ways to study in France. For more information, contact Dr. Lisa Wolffe.
- NSU is also a member of the Classical Consortium of the University of Louisiana System, part of the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies (ICCS) in Rome. Students can study ancient history and archeology, Greek and Latin literature, and ancient art through this Duke University program in Rome. For more information, contact Dr. Jean D'Amato.

International Students: We welcome applications from international students. All applicants must meet the College's selection criteria and satisfy the requirements for admission to NSU:
- A completed Application for Admission.
- Payment of a non-refundable application fee of $30.00 in U. S. currency.
- A completed Education and Financial certificate which lists all educational experiences and certifies that the applicant has sufficient funds for his or her educational and living expenses. ($12,000 per year is required.)
- Complete, certified true copies of both original and English translations of all secondary (high) school work, and certified true copies of both original and English translations of year-by-year mark sheets, examination results, certificates, and diplomas. (Certification must be given by an accredited professional educational credentials evaluation service based in the United States.)
- Complete, certified true copies of both original and English translations of all college work, and year-by-year mark sheets, examination results, certificates, diplomas, and transcripts. (Certification must be given by an accredited professional educational credentials evaluation service based in the United States.)
- A completed Health Form.
- An official copy of the applicant's Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores and Test of Written English scores: a minimum TOEFL score of 550 is required for admission to undergraduate study.
- Because of the time necessary to process applications and issue the I-20 for obtaining a student visa, international students must complete their applications no later than 30 days prior to the beginning of the semester they wish to enroll. Applicants for fall admission should be aware that vacation schedules may delay processing and that significant additional time is often necessary to obtain a student visa once the I-20 is received by the student; early application is encouraged.
Students coming to NSU as part of ISEP may choose to take Scholars' College courses as part of their curriculum.

Advanced study: About 65% of our graduates choose to go to medical school, law school, or graduate school immediately after graduation. Others move directly into public service or business, or take a job in the performing arts. Additional alumni have gone on to graduate school following service in VISTA or a few years off from school.
