Welcome to the Louisiana Scholars' College!
Established in 1987 as the state's only designated honors college, we offer students the opportunity to pursue their academic and personal goals in a supportive atmosphere. Our core curriculum combines great books-based courses with courses in mathematics and sciences to provide students with a strong foundation for their more focused study in one of our concentrations or in a traditional major.
Take some time to explore what we have to offer, meet our current students and our faculty, see where the Scholars' College education has taken our graduates, and read what others have to say about the Scholars' College. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

What do others say about the Scholars' College?
“It is also in the interest of the nation, the state, and the individual to have an intense program for gifted scholars who wish to maximize the depth and breadth of their education. Each university should, by this criterion, have a Scholars College, and Northwestern State University of Louisiana is to be commended for its leadership role. I would suggest that Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and their ilk take a good look at what's going on in Natchitoches. ”
