A Texts and Traditions discussionEstablished in 1987 as the state's designated honors college by the Louisiana Board of Regents, the Louisiana Scholars’ College offers each student the experience of a lifetime. The format of a private liberal arts college combined with the resources of larger university gives our students a unique educational opportunity.

The Scholars’ College is one of seven undergraduate colleges at Northwestern State University. Admission to the Scholars’ College is competitive with consideration given to academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and letters of recommendation. Students work closely with faculty, a collaboration that results in a rare intellectual experience for undergraduates.

The Scholars’ College has a current enrollment of approximately 140 students from across Louisiana and other states.
