Claudia Triche received her MSW in Clinical Social Work from Louisiana State University in 1972, after having earned the BA in Sociology and Speech from Northwestern State University in 1970.
In addition to her work as Department Head and Professor of Social Work at NSU, Professor Triche has been actively involved in professional activities, presenting papers at numerous professional conferences, including "From Setback to Comeback" at the Baccalaureate Program Directors' Meeting in San Francisco, and "Evaluating the Effectiveness of Early Intervention Preschool" at the National Association of Social Work Symposium in Chicago, and "Personal and Professional Development" at the Mississippi Conference of Social Welfare in Jackson, Mississippi. Professor Triche currently serves as a Readjustment Counselor for the Shreveport/Bossier Vietnam Veterans' Center and has her own part-time clinical practice in Natchitoches. She has also been very active with grant projects, with proposals funded for over $900,000, directly benefiting NSU's Social Work Program, Title IV-E and local children's services agencies.
Presently serving as Head of the Department of Social
Work, she has been at NSU since 1974 and served as the Director
of Field Instruction for the 22 years. Professor brings not only
experience but also enthusiasm to NSU's Social Work Program, giving its
students exceptional preparation for their professional careers.
