Faculty Meeting Minutes

October 18, 2004

       The meeting was called to order at 12:00pm.  Present were Patricia Clark, Dr. Randy Haley, Kathleen Laske, Barbara Pierce, Dr. Francis Powell, Claudia Triche, and Dr. Wade Tyler.  Recent information obtained from Institutional Research was discussed.  Their findings indicated that the Social Work is the fastest growing department on campus with the highest senior retention rate.  Faculty were informed that Dr. Webb requests that Ms. Pierce talk to David West regarding writing an article about teaching an online course at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH.  The November 3-7, 2004 BPD Conference was discussed.  Faculty was instructed to turn in their expense accounts for early reimbursement. Faculty was reminded to sign and return their Appointment Letters to the Vice President's office by Friday, October 22, 2004. Faculty members who had not done so was instructed to submitted their personal information to Brenda Falcon for web posting.  Also, consideration for a new departmental web page design was discussed.  Computer issues were discussed and problems noted.  The procedure for submitting mid-term grades online was reviewed and feedback discussed.  The field instructor director requested that faculty remind students to submit their applications before the deadline date.  Meeting adjourned at 1:00 pm.
