School of Social Sciences Director Dr. Greg GrangerWelcome to the School of Social Sciences

The School of Social Sciences offers courses in Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Geography, Historic Preservation, History, Legal Assistant Program, Philosophy, Political Science, Social Sciences, and Sociology. We also have the Master of Arts in Heritage Resources graduate program.

Our dedicated faculty works closely with student to provide the best learning experience possible. Our incoming freshmen are encouraged to participate in the Social Sciences orientation course and others that are designed for our majors in the disciplines. These courses are small and allow our first-year students to interact with other students pursuing the same degree and work one-on-one with our faculty members. Our upperclassmen have many hands-on-experiences available to them. Students have worked on archaeological excavations, been involved in oral history projects, and have spent summers in Congressional offices in Washington , D.C. Upon graduation our students continue their education in law schools or in graduate programs and successful careers in business and public service.

We encourage you to explore our site. You will find information on our faculty, degree programs, facilities, student clubs, and partnerships with the broader university and Natchitoches community. I think you will find it exciting and we hope that you decide to join us. If you wish to discuss opportunities within the School of Social Sciences, please feel free to contact us
