Fields of Interest:
Military History, Louisiana and Southern History, Slavery in the Americas.
Researched and published on both slavery and the Civil War in Louisiana, Mr. Price has taught courses on the United States (Colonial to Present). He has been to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York both as a Fellow and, most recently, as Civilian Deputy Director of the West Point Military Fellows Summer History Program for advanced study of Military History. He serves as an Institutional Representative for the Department of Defense and the several ROTC programs in Region 2 which comprises the states of Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Mississippi, Michigan, Missouri, Arkansas, and Wisconsin. His research has been published in Louisiana History, and he has contributed to Plantation Town and Country: Essays on the Local History of American Slave Society published by the University of Illinois Press. He is an editor for the Dictionary of Louisiana Biography and serves on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Historical Association. Since spring 1999, he has been the faculty advisor to Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society for historians.
