Dr. Housel is one of two Sociologists in the Social Sciences Department and teaches a variety of courses including Statistics, Race & Ethnicity, Social Stratification, and Death and Dying. Dr. Housel’s dissertation research explored facets of domestic violence and the organizations that serve victims and perpetrators.
Dr. Housel has served as a grant evaluator for the National Institute of Mental Health, worked as a domestic violence counselor, and is retired from the US Army.
At NSU, Dr. Housel works with the Sociology Club and is involved with Alpha Kappa Delta.
