Exemptions
The Office of Auxiliary Services may approve exemptions for the requirement to live on-campus, purchase a meal plan, living in the
University Columns Apartments and for the automatic assessment of the Student Health Services fee for on-cams residence. Students may
obtain the respective forms at the Office of Auxiliary Services, Student Union 103 or click below. No form will be processed
without the appropriate documentation attached.
- Off-Campus Residency Exemptions
According to the Rules of the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System, an unmarried, full-time
undergraduate student, under 21 years of age is required to live on campus if space is available, unless exempt by
Northwestern State University for good and reasonable cause. If a student feels that he/she have good and reasonable
cause to live off-campus, he/she may fill out an application for Off-Campus Residency and attach appropriate documentation.

- Campus Dining Exemption
All on campus students (including University Columns Residents) are required to have a meal plan. Those students who
feel that they may qualify for a meal plan exemption may apply.

- Application for Residency in University Columns Apartments
Those students who are planning to reside in the University Columns Apartment complex must complete the Application for
Residency in University Columns Apartments. Preference is given to Seniors followed by Juniors.

- Applications for exemption from Student Health Services Fees
All students residing on campus (including University Columns Residents) are automatically assessed the Student Health
Services Fee. On campus residents who feel that they may qualify for an exemption from Student Health Services may apply.
