Welcome to the Web site for University Affairs, a diverse
group of innovative and talented professionals who provide
quality facilities, maintenance and management services in
support of education and research at Northwestern State
University.
We are committed to being fully responsive to the needs of
faculty, students, staff and the public, who are our
customers.
The Office of University Affairs is comprised of Plant
Services, Physical Plant, and Environmental Health and Safety.
The Vice President of University Affairs serves as chair of
the Violence in the Workplace Committee and chairs the Council
for Minority Affairs. He also works closely with department
heads in directing university facilities maintenance programs,
including renovations and construction programs for all
buildings and mechanical systems. He also assists in
coordinating all capital outlay funded projects with the
University Planning Committee, architects-engineers,
contractors, and the Office of State Facility Planning.
The Vice President for University Affairs assures responsible
management of physical inventory, identification tags,
depreciation, proper record keeping and the upkeep of
materials and property inventory system to control the
inventories.
The Vice President for University Affairs ensures that the
University meets compliance of hazardous waste management,
emergency response planning and occupational health and safety
standards. He assures proper maintenance of health and safety
records are maintained, and documented results of corrective
action are maintained where non-compliance is found.
The division of University Affairs strives to cooperate with
all campus constituents to provide a functional, safe and
efficient facilities operation for the university.
