Conflict Resolution
It is the University’s policy that conflict resolution be attempted at the lowest level possible. When a question arises about a recommended accommodation, it is the responsibility of the faculty members and students with disabilities to consult with the DS Coordinator in a timely manner. DS will work with university personnel and students to resolve disagreements regarding recommended accommodations. Faculty members who question the legitimacy of an accommodation recommended by DS should continue to afford the accommodation to the student while the conflict resolution procedure is implemented.
If the grievance can not be resolved at that level, the grievance may be filed with the ADA Grievance Committee. Information regarding the filing of a grievance can be requested through the DS Coordinator or the Dean of University College.
