Advising General Studies Students
(Kyser Hall, Room 239)
Centrally located on Northwestern’s main campus, the University College’s professional advisors deliver comprehensive academic advising to students pursuing degrees in General Studies.
All general studies students are assigned an academic advisor who will provide on-going assistance with academic exploration. University College Advisors assist students who are working toward completion of the general studies curriculum. In addition, advisors and students collaborate to identify academic and career interests. Once identified, advisors may recommend certain courses and other extra-curricular activities accordingly.
A comprehensive approach to advising often involves making appropriate referrals elsewhere on campus to ensure that general studies students’ diverse needs are met. University College Advisors are committed to on-going collaboration with faculty and staff to assist General Studies students from the point of admission through graduation.
