Summer Bridge
Summer Bridge is a program that assists college freshmen in making the transition from high school to college. A three-week program is hosted by the Academic Center, a unit of University College. Freshmen who participate in Summer Bridge will have the opportunity to interact with fellow freshmen, as well as NSU faculty and staff. Summer Bridge participants are also allowed to pre-register for fall classes, receive an introduction to college life, and gain confidence about starting college in the fall.
Admission Criteria
Any person wishing to attend Northwestern State
University who meets all
regular admission criteria, except the developmental course
requirement, may enroll in Northwestern's Summer Bridge Program. Completion of
the developmental course requirement in the summer may result in regular
admission in the fall.
