Circulation Desk services end 15 minutes before posted closing time

 

Click here to Renew a book online: Log on using your Campus wide ID as your user ID. Your 6 digit date of birth is your pin number.    (You must come to the library for a second renewal.)

LIBRARY CARDS:  Anyone with a current NSU Speed Demon, BPCC, or LSMSA identification  (ID) card may check out materials. You are responsible for all material checked out using your ID. Students, faculty and staff must present ID cards to check out materials. No one may use another person's card without  the Library Director's approval.

 

CIRCULATING MATERIALS:  

  • Check out materials at the first floor circulation desk

  • 20 library items may be checked out to a student at one time

  • 21 days loan period for NSU and LSMSA students

  • Graduate students may check out up to 31 items for 21 days

  • Government Documents circulate in the same manner as other materials

  • Due date is 21 days after check out unless the library is closed

  • You may not check out reference materials and periodicals    

  • You can renew books online one time for an additional 21 days

RETURNING BOOKS:  During library hours, return books to the book drop near the Library front door. When the library is closed, use the student parking lot book drops.

RESERVE MATERIALS:  Reserve items are at the circulation desk. Reserves enable groups to share materials that are either in short supply or must be used within time limits.

ou may check out 4 reserve items at a time.  Reserve items may not leave the library unless they are overnight, 3 day, or one week checkouts.
 

Library resources and materials belonging to faculty members may be placed on reserve. For information, contact Circulation

FINES:

Overdue library items: $0.50 per day for each item

Overdue Reserves: $1.00 per hour

Overdue Videos:  $1.00 per day.

Fines are charged directly to NSU student accounts and billed by the Cashier's Office.

LSMSA students must get a fines summary from the library, pay fines at the Cashier's Office, then bring the receipt to the library to clear their account.


LOST OR DAMAGED LIBRARY MATERIALS: 
Lost book fee is $60, plus fines due. This goes toward replacement, processing, and cataloging of a new book. Damage fees start at $15 with a maximum of $60.


LOST / FOUND:
Check at the Circulation Desk for lost items; you may also turn in found items there.
